Hidden Camera FAQs and Answers Continued...Answers to your hidden camera questions.

6. I need to record for longer than 12 hours. Can you help?

Yes. Time-Lapse Recorders and Digital Video Recorders (DVR's) offer significantly longer record times than consumer VCRs. There are recorders that can record for over 40 days on one tape!  See our Video Recorders section.

7. Do your cameras have built-in audio?

No. We DO NOT manufacture hidden cameras with built-in audio capabilities. Unless you are an AUTHORIZED law enforcement agency don't even ask.

We get calls everyday from well meaning customers who have a seemingly legitimate reason to record audio with covert video but must refuse their requests due to Federal regulations.

We WILL NOT sell or discuss covert video with integrated audio.  For a copy of the law regarding this subject see Hidden Camera Audio Law Title III .

8. How far do the wireless hidden cameras transmit?

Our standard systems send video up to 700ft. Line-of-sight (LOS).  This measurement is based on the distance from the transmitter to the receiver with no obstructions or interference.

9. How many walls or floors will the wireless signal penetrate?

This really depends on the construction of the building you plan to use the equipment in.  2.4GHz signals are very directional and subject to outside interference.  The signal penetrates most walls made of wood, drywall, glass, plastic or fabric panels.  Steel or metal walls will have a drastic effect on signal range.

We have had good luck using these cameras through 2 concrete floors and more with the higher power models.

10. I have 2.4GHz cordless phones in the same building I plan on using my hidden camera.  Will it interfere?

Yes and no. When using 2.4GHz cordless phones you may see several horizontal lines through the video picture when the phone is in use.  This depends on the model of cordless phone you are using.

Your 2.4GHz wireless camera will NOT interfere with the operation of your cordless phone.

11. How many wireless cameras can I have operating at one time?

Most people purchase more than one wireless camera to maximize the security benefit.  Of course you want to be able to use more than one camera at the same time.  As long as your cameras are set to different channels then you should be able to operate 4 units in the same vicinity. If you need more than 4 cameras please contact us for the best possible option.

Please tell us at the time of ordering if you currently have a wireless camera so we can set your system to the correct operating channel.
