Here's a little bedtime story for you. Being in the hidden spy camera business it's natural to be curious from time to time.

When we travel around the world we often visit spy shops. Sometimes to see friends of ours. Sometimes to snoop on the competition. Hey... a little competition is good for the soul! Plus, it keeps people guessing and lets us stay ahead of the game.

For several years we sold the same old stuffed animal cameras you will find in just about any spy shop in the world and on every website on the net. We weren't happy with the quality and neither were our customers.

The teddy bears we used to sell had a power cord hanging out of their rumps!

It was time to step up and take a little initiative of our own instead of following the pack. After months of trial and error and learning how to sew, we can proudly say that we have the best teddy bear hidden spy camera money can buy.

"I hired a sitter for my new baby and decided I needed a hidden spy camera. A quick look through the yellow pages produced a spy shop just a few blocks from me. I loaded up Kelsie and we made our way to the store. After several minutes of searching I found a nice looking little teddy bear that looked like it would do the job.

I called the toll free number and spoke with Jason. He assured me that this bear was professional quality and I would most certainly be spared from scrutiny a second time. The package arrived when he said it would and my husband's jaw dropped when he took the bear out and inspected it. He couldn't believe I paid less for this one than I did at the local spy shop, not to mention there was no cord!

How it's done

First, we take a normal, off the shelf stuffed animal and test it for cuteness. It has to be cute or it doesn't come home. That's life.

Next, we install a zipper on the back side of the animal so that we can fit all of the high-tech components inside making them invisible to anyone who dares to look.

This is a painful process for us due to needle pricks but we've learned to use thimbles. The bear does not feel a thing. I promise.

Finally we adjust the camera and settings so that you have a camcorder quality image every time you use the stuffed animal camera.

Your choice of power connection

As with all hidden spy cameras they must obtain electricity from some type of source whether it's a/c power from a wall outlet or from a set of batteries. We give you a choice. Your teddy bear comes with an a/c adapter for plugging directly in to a wall outlet and a 8AA battery holder where you can use your own batteries. May we suggest also purchasing the optional rechargeable battery pack. The pack will give you many uses and will eliminate the need to change expensive batteries.

The view from the other side

Several of the other stuffed animal cameras we tested had some serious issues due to the camera placement. We think of it as "tunnel vision" or the "halo effect". Take a look at these two examples. The one on the left is what you will see through some stuffed animal cameras on the market. The one on the right is an example of what you will see through ours.
